Live in the Moment

Lately, as I fumble along, dealing with massive task about job, study and wedding preparation, I have done a lot of thinking.  Those who know me will tell you that I’m a thinker. But anyhow, today I was thinking about career.  And free time. Oh how I miss it. I am amazed at how much free time we take for granted as kids.

When I joined the working world I realized:

1)  How very precious free time is…..I’m talking the kind that is completely without responsibility or time limited task;

2)  How wonderful a full, long night’s sleep is without worried about what will happen tomorrow;

3)  And on the other side; how great it is to do something that you enjoy and having fun without considering about the consequences;

4)  Not mentioning about how hypocrite people are in the corporate world;

5)  High performance doesn’t promise you with fair compensation.  Yet, you call that as FAIR!!....tell me about it.

Believe it or not, this is the true fact that we need to accept and live for the moment instead of doing what everyone else tells you you're supposed to be doing.

Weekend Wishes

Happy weekend everyone!  May you treasure this moment with your love one.  I am going for a movie with my fiancĂ©e in a while to watch “Just Go With It”.  I can't wait to watch Adam Standler’s Movie.  I hate to admit that he is one of my favorite comedian.  Something that started out when I first watch his movie "You don't miss with the Zohan".  Hmmm, CORRECTION..."YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN'.  Till then we never miss any of his new movie.

Danny (Adam Sandler) has a unique approach to picking up women - in order to break the ice and gain their sympathy, he pretends to be stuck in an unhappy marriage. The instant he brandishes his wedding ring, the deal is all but cinched. But when Danny finally meets a woman (Brooklyn Decker) that he really would want to marry, he abandons his usual approach for something more subtle. Incredibly, it works. But when she discovers the wedding band that he used to use as a pick-up prop, Danny attempts to cover his tracks by falling back on his tried-and-true divorce line. Unfortunately, the plan backfires when his new girlfriend asks to meet his future ex. Desperate, Danny recruits his office manager, Katherine (Jennifer Aniston), to validate his ruse by posing as his current wife. Before long, the lies are snowballing, and by the time Katherine's kids get involved and everyone comes together for a trip to Hawaii, it's not a matter of if Danny's plan will fall through, but when.

Watch it!

Take a Break!

The life of a modern day woman is not always sugar and everything nice.  Attempting to impress the boyfriend while trying to juggle social responsibilities can be extremely exhausting at time.  I belief everyone deserves a little pampering from time to time and what better way to take a break than spending time for shopping!!  GUESS WHAT!!  I just bought three pairs of shoes from Heatwave....YES, THREE PAIRS!!  Sometimes, it is fun to spend for something that you like without considering if you really need it.

Live with Intention

LIVE WITH INTENTION

“Live with intention.
Walk to the edge.
Listen hard.
Practice Wellness.
Play with abandon.
Laugh.
Choose with no regret.
Appreciate your friends.
Continue to learn.
Do what you love.
Live as if this is all there is.”

10 Things to learn from Japan

While browsing my e-mail this morning, I received a very meaningful forwarded e-mail from my colleague that worth to share around.

SUBJECT:  10 THINGS TO LEARN FROM JAPAN

1.    THE CALM
        No a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief.  Sorrow itself has been elevated.

2.    THE DIGNITY
        Disciplined queues for water and groceries.  Not a rough word or a crude gesture.

3.    THE ABILITY
        The incredible architects, for instance buildings swayed but didn't fall.

4.    THE GRACE
        People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get something.

5.    THE ORDER
        No looting in shops.  No honking and no overtaking on the roads.  Just understanding.

6.    THE SACRIFICE
        Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the N-reactors,  How will they ever be repaid?

7.    THE TENDERNESS
        Restaurant cut prices, An unguarded ATM is left alone.  The strong cared for the weak.

8.    THE TRAINING
        The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do and they did just that.

9.    THE MEDIA
        They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins.  No sensationalizing.  Only clam reportage.

10.   THE CONSCIENCE
         When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the selves and left quietly.

 This makes the Nation Great

How BIG are Your Problems?

God didn't promise days without pain, Laughter without sorrow, sun wihout rain BUT he did promise strength for the day, confort for the tear and light for the way....This is what we call as the journey of life.  When something bad happen, we have to learn to forgive, forget and move on.  No one can go back and make a brand now start but ONLY YOU can start frm now and make a brand new ending.

If you think what you are facing now are the end of the world.  Then, look at yourself after you watching this.

Tuesdays with Morrie

The best thing in life is not always be free; instead happiness doesn’t require an overweight price tag either.  Sometimes, a simple thing like lazing all day at home can also provides the most fun and leisure.  I love weekends, this is the only time I can wake up late and watching TV while laying back on the couch.  Weekends is the only free time for me to be spent with my beloved family especially by lending helping hands to my mum in the kitchen and do some spring cleaning as well.

While I was cleaning my room, I saw an old book entitled “Tuesdays with Morrie” written by a well-known author, Mitch Albom.  As I flash back my memories, I remembered that I bought this book four years ago in a down town book store.

Unlike other story books, “Tuesdays with Morrie” taught us lesson about the wondrous significant of life, courage and wisdom.  I strongly recommend this book for those who interested to gain knowledge about life’s greatest lesson.

Here is one of my favorite Quote attributed by the author to Morrie Schwartz.....

Getting Meaning into Life:
"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning." (p.43)

This book has inspired their reader, it makes me understand better what’s the purpose for me to exist in this world and for who I am today.

It has to start somewhere

I suppose everyone would have their personal reason for becoming a blogger.  Whatever reason you have, it can never beat mine…..being FORCE!!  The reason for me and the rest of the students who are taking E-Commerce this semester, blogging is to fulfill the requirement  of our assignment.  Yes…..you heard me right.  What a brilliant idea from our beloved lecturer (Sir Kit).

Assignment 2:  Enter blogger.com and blog around………

If you are thinking of becoming a blogger and do not know where to start, Here are Seven Principles for building effective blogs from Data (2006):

1.         Focus intently on a narrow niche, ideally one whose audience has predilection for high   margin products;
2.         Set up blogs so that each post gets its own permanent URL;
3.         Think of a blog as a database, not a newspaper-like collection of dispatchers;
4.         Blog frequently and regularly, at least half a dozen posts every weekday;
5.         Use striking images that liven up the pages and attract readers;
6.         Enable comments and interact with readers;
7.         Make friends with other bloggers, online and off.

I like ITEM 4 the most…….Blog Frequently and regulation, at least half a dozen posts every weekday.  Hmmm…that is a lot of thing to write, just to get the 7% marks.

To Sir Kit, if you are reading my blog…..this is for you.  Despite all the complaints, my sincere appreciation to you for making E-Commerce an interesting subject.  It makes the learning process become easier by applying and practicing what we learn through our assignment.  Thank you for bringing such a boring subject to live.
